The new start I've been harping about for a year now, you know, the one where I get to rebuild my life back the way I believe it was meant to be starts coincidentally close to the beginning of the new year.

I spent the early morning on the phone with so many people this morning about keeping George in rehab for another thirty days, but his insurance said no. I guess I expected as much, but it still makes it hard to re-adjust when I believed he would get the opportunity to stay.

A lot of feelings are coming to the front. Fear, anxiety. Excitement, eagerness. And as I told ^joannastar, the anxiety is really overwhelming, and the unknown casts a shadow on the good feelings I have about him coming out into the real world.

A sort of reprieve.

Not many people get the chance to hit the pause button on their life, have everything dissipate away and are able to focus entirely on the bettering of themselves. I'm so grateful to everyone who supported us, to my family for being present, to his family, and to my dad who has gone (and continues to go) far beyond anything I ever expected--or anything I ever thought I'd deserve.

Things could have gone horribly. Yes, even worse than what had gone wrong. But they didn't because he received the gift of rehab--because I received an immense support from my family.

These sorts of things don't happen often... these things are invaluable. I think they are called miracles?


Wishes

I'm hoping that the next few weeks brings a solid schedule... I hope it brings just the tiniest of comfort bubbles. Just like... a blanket of comfort. Where I finally realize that everyone is on the same page and we're all ready to move forward. I wish for an easy transition for George into real life... I wish for continual strength for him though I know it won't be easy.

And after that, I wish for a home, a bed (no more motel beds... no more air mattresses, please!)--just a place to start fresh and with light and hope and optimism.

I wish that the last of my commissions are finished and sent quickly, and that I don't have to worry about doing anymore until next year. And on my own terms--not because I had to do them.

I wish for speed and inspiration to finally finish my novels when my life has been so interrupted.

I wish that 2010 I know that 2010 will be better than all of the other years combined. And that all of my dreams and hopes and aspirations will be realized.


I asked earlier, what are you hoping santa/whoever brings you for christmas/whatever you celebrate.

What are your wishes for the end of this year? For next year?


I have to go and run more errands for Dad, but I'll see you all around later. Thank you to those who sent letters to George--I'm going to look at them when he gets home tomorrow and send a note out to those I haven't already. If you haven't sent your letters, hold onto them--I'm going to keep the project going with letters forwarded to my house, so stay tuned if you're still interested.
