Hey everyone! The Neosynthesis Art Group has released its 29th Chronicle, and boy, this one is super awesome! The theme was 'Growth' and I think everyone who participated did a spectacular job!
I have four pieces in this Chronicle, another graphite/watercolor like this, a digital painting, and a photograph.
On this piece: "Have you ever started a piece with an idea of what you wanted it to look like, but wasn't able to follow through? I spent tonight fiddling around with my graphite and realizing the only thing I was still able to draw with them were portraits and, well, nothing else. I did a handful of (not even) half finished graphite pieces that started with the intention of having full blown realistic still life for this chronicle.
THEN. After being entirely frustrated, I decided, why not just do some free form watercolors and do some sort of fantastic painting. That didn't...happen either. I sat for a few moments trying to decide whether to just chuck this shit across the room or attempt something else (by this time it was my 5th attempt). Hastily I grabbed my half finished graphite drawings (one of them I even folded in half in disgust) and started throwing some watercolors over it."
So all in all, I really like this, full view is best, and its one of the works I'm more proud of-- really unlike anything I've ever posted before. The painting is based off of a photo of a hibiscus flower I took.
Also, if you have time, check out the 'Growth Tapestry'-- 9 of the Neosynthesis artists collaborated to bring you this wonderful piece! Mine is second from the bottom!
I hope you guys enjoy this wonderful collection of artwork, and feel free to comment here on my pieces in the chronicle ( I won't be uploading the rest to dA)
